Big Hurt yet again 6/14

OAKLAND'S FRANK THOMAS LEFT THE GAME IN THE BOTTOM OF THE THIRD INNING WITH A STRAINED RIGHT QUADRICEPS.

Same injury for which they planned on dl'ing him when they went on their interleague swing next week. Sounds like he didn't dodge the bullet after all.

BH is DL bound.

SF Chronicle 6/15:

Designated hitter Frank Thomas came out of Oakland's 7-2 victory over the Mariners in the third inning with a reoccurrence of the quadriceps strain that kept him out of four games last month and one game this month. Thomas, who has 16 homers (second on the A's to Nick Swisher's 17), said after the game he believes he will go on the disabled list as a result, especially because the A's will be playing at National League parks for nine games, beginning Monday at Colorado.

"If you hit the baseball and you can't run, that's a problem,'' said Thomas, who described the strain, which is near his right hip flexor, as very painful.

How long do we anticipate him being out?? I don't really want to DL him then pick someone up and have to decide ina week who to drop again...This injury seems pretty semi-serious to say the least the fact that it keeps popping up and all....

He'll probably go on the DL 4 times this year. I'd say he is out 3 weeks at most.. then will play 2 weeks then be out 3 weeks...and on and on
