With the detroit manager saying verlander will watch his pitch count around 100, does this decrease verlander's value.

Mainly they don't want him to suffer an injury and also because he's a rookie. He's good and it might have a little decrease on his value.

No, I don't think it hurts his value and as an owner I am glad they are watching his count. I'm very surprised he's piched as deep into games as he has so far this season.
As far as his value for the rest of the season? It will only go up as he establishes himself. Currently it is hard to get fair value for him as managers are still skeptical. He is young and unproven and there are few who will pay squarely for him. Wait until he is more established and the offers will come rolling in.

i think it's good that they're watching his pitch count--he's still a rookie and it shows that they're watching out for him to make sure he doesn't get injured. he's a valuable part of their team right now.

I agree, nice to see them take the softly softly approach, we don't want a Wood/Prior thing going on.
How about long term? How does he compare to the Billingsley/Hamels/Weavers/Liriano/Felix crew?
Also, how do you feel about him compared to more established SP from a long term perspective?

I think it hurts his value slightly, but not enough to get rid of him. Being on a strict pitch count may cost him a W or 2, but that would be the extent of it. Now if he gets shut down in September like last year, thats a whole nother bag of potatoes.
