Currently starting Hillenbrand at 1B while Pujols is on the DL. Wondering if any of these guys would be worth dropping him or someone else for:
Mike Jacobs
Dan Johnson
Michael Cuddyer
Could use the help primarily in HR and RBI but need AVG help too.

There is no perfect solution, just stop gap measures to not fall too far behind while Pujols is out.... I'm platooning Mike Jacobs and Adam Laroche.... When they face righties, they rake pretty good. It's their poor performance against lefty pitchers that makes their overall #s not look so great. Combined correctly, their numbers are going to exceed any one first basemen that you can get cheaply.
Morneau and Broussard are other good 1b platoon options if they're avaialble.
So should I drop Morales rather than Hillenbrand and play Jacobs vs. righty's and Hillenbrand vs. Lefty's? Plus Hillenbrand's got the 3B eligibility. Morales really hasn't done much after his fast start.

Yes, though I like Morales long term, but I think there'll be an adjustment period for him. Jacobs seems to have already made the adjustments, he's been raking (righties especially) the last month.
Morales though is gonna be good, but I think he's a Mark Grace type player. High average, but only decent power #s. He'll be a valuable guy to have, but he's not a carry-the-team kind of player.... but it'll take time. If you need #s now, I'd go with Jacobs.
Do you think Morales will do much the rest of the year or is his value more long term....it's a keeper league but we only keep 4 players (2 franchise and 2 two-year keepers). I really need the power numbers so I was thinking Jacobs or Dan Johnson (who's been on fire). Seems like Jacobs does really well against righties so I may go with him.
Any other feedback?

I doubt Morales is gonna be at the keeper-level at least this year. There's no guaranatee he'll ever be one. I don't designate a guy a keeper unless he's a veteran stud or a can't miss prospect.... I can't say Morales is a can't miss prospect. I think he'll be good, but great, I can't say.
