What's going on with Smoltz? He lost another one tonight, that's 3 in a row now. I'm tempted to drop him already but I feel like he'll bounce back. Thoughts?
I think each of these 3 losses has been a 'quality start' (as was tonight). I think he's not pitching badly....getting nice K numbers...not much support and a junky bullpen.

I sure hope the guy in my league is tempted to drop him.
Well, some guy in my league dropped him,,,for Mark Mulder who was dropped a few days back. I can see Mulder who has lost a few MPH on his Fastball and has been ineffective most of the year....but Smoltz??? This is the same guy that dropped Casey the day after King Albert was placed on MY DL and Cantuu a few days later...both of who are now happy members of my team. I think I will make this one the TRI-FECTA...Ervin Santana for John Smoltz anyone?
Smoltz is a solid #2 SP. No way you should even consider dropping him. What do you want, a shutout ever time out? Look at Johan last night, 8 IP, 13 K's, 5 Hits, ND. It isn't Johan or Smoltz's fault they can't get any run support. Smoltz might break down late in the year, because he's getting overworked, but he is about as reliable a #2 SP you can get.
