Underperfomring Canidates

Who would you say has under performed but might have a great restof the year. What I am looking for are some guys where other owners are impatient and looking to get rid of them.


1. Richie sexson. (will he play in the interleague games?)
2. Randy Johnsoin 43 and looking his age.
3. Beltre
4. Andy Petitte ( whats wrong with him?)
5. AJ Burnett

Helton is probably the most likely to salvage the rest of the year. Last year his numbers were sad and the second half of the season he hit >.350 I believe.

Aubrey Huff, though his numbers have declined three consecutive years, does much better in the second half than the first.

Adrian Beltre has had a putrid start, but has made changes to his batting stance and is hitting the ball better.

Geoff Jenkins of the Brewers can be counted on to get hot later in the season. Will hit bombs by the truck load in July or August.

Jimmy Rollins should rebound in the second half, but he hasn't done poorly enough for most owners to bail on him.

All I can come up with off the top of my head.

I would expect Sexson to be somewhat better over the second half, although perhaps not ginormously better. Pettitte, I would think might be inspired by the return of his buddy, The Rocket and should post better numbers. I think what we're seeing from Johnson right now, might be just what he is now...... Beltre I'd stay away from; unless you're in a deep league or you suffer some kind of injury setback, 3B is deep enough to not have to worry about him. As far as AJ goes, I'm expecting nothing from him this year, as he appears to be a little crybaby and/or uber-injury prone.

I look for Rollins and Figgins to bounce back... too much talent there too suck all year, same with Marcus Giles.

With Pettite it's mechanics not an injury, because he's had good games, and even good innings in his bad games. This has happened before and he's always made the adjustments and bounced back. When it comes I don't know. But when he gets into a groove like the last half of last year, he can be a #1 ace.

Although it's just as a platoon, I think Adam Laroche is really going to start raking righties. He's getting better every month it seems.
