Rocket's positive effect on Pettitte

The Rocket's return could signal a turnaround for Andy Pettitte. These two players are best friends, fierce competitors and feed off of each other, with each making the other a better player. Just look at their stats when they were together last year... each player had a career year in what is known to be a good hitter's park.

While everyone is focusing on the Rocket and his return, you might be wise to focus on Pettitte as a great buy low candidate. Look at his splits from the second half of last year: they were awesome. His velocity and strikeout numbers have been fine, all he needs to do is cut down on the long ball and his walks. He has also been hurt by poor defense. When that evens out, expect Pettite to return to a 3.5 ERA, 1.15 WHIP pitcher who K's 7 per 9 innings.
