It again begs the question, how the hell did he not make the starting rotation at the beginning of the season ahead of Silva or Lohse.

The Twins could have been a lot closer to the Tigers and White Sox if he had.

They wanted to let him log a decent amount of innings in lower pressure situations than as the starter so he would come out poised with experience.

Basically making sure he didn’t have any jitters that would lead to a mental lapse.

I saw his last game, and it was Santana-esque.... great fastball, nasty nasty slider that doesn't break till late, which is pure hell for a hitter, either lefty or righty.

I allmost drafted him, but I already had King Felix and Kazmir, and I didn't want my entire rotation to be youngsters, so I passed on Liriano and am regretting it.

You can't win them all though. King Felix is FINALLY playing up to the hype and Kazmir is doing as well as an ace can do for a weak team in a strong division with a shaky bullpen. If you offered me Liriano for either of them I don't know if I'd take it though. King Felix's last outing versus the Angels totally sold me on him, and Kazmir, at some point, either Tampa will improve or he'll get traded to a decent team. He's already a 20 game winner type pitcher, he just doesn't have the team this year to back him up... I wouldn't lose a lot of sleep though if I made that trade.
