I hate Yahoo bums

Postby mth1185 » Thu Aug 07, 2003 12:03 pm

Im in first in my yahoo public league but the idiot in last place just dumped his team, dropping guys like helton and ponson for barry larkin and ryan dempster. Of course my waiver priority is low or I wouldnt be complaining. Crap like that ruins everything I worked for all season. Even if I still win it will seem tainted to me. Anybody else have similar sob stories they want to get off their chest? Also, I was under the impression yahoo wouldnt let teams do this kind of thing, dont the rules say a team cant make a move that doesnt directly benefit itself?

I'm in first plcae in my league and its seems as if everyone is bitter about it because it seems like i always win in everything. Therefore, all the other teams are seeing what categories they can beat me in so they can collectively lower my score and allow the guy in second place to win. There are guys dumping their teams and replacing them with basestealers just so they can pass me in stolen bases, while someone else starts all closer so i will lose ground in saves. That is some kind of bull.

Welcome to public leagues, where fantasy anarchy runs rampant. :-/

LOL, yeah everyone is out to get you because you're such a winner. That's the most self-centered arguement I've ever heard.

Yeah it sucks when someone dumps their team. I had someone in my league do it because he thought it was "the fair thing to do" since he hadn't been doing anything. Misguided fool. The guy that was in first at the time was the only active player not to get anybody. Now he's in second and I'm in first, but the only guy I got was Berkman who helped but wasn't really the difference maker.

We had a guy drop his whole team and sign every Tampa Bay Devil Ray that was availiable. 8-o Lol. Ahh, the life of free, public leagues. It has certainly made the league interesting.

The guy in last place in my league has a pretty decent team, but for some reason all his players have been on the bench the whole season. Funny part is he's still number one in batting average!

that is such a horrible move....maybe yahoo should do something similar to espn's "undroppable" lists to help lessen the impact of some terrible individual dropping his whole team once out of contention.
