A SP that most had marked down as a #2 SP, he has really gotten rocked the last three starts. Very uncharacteristic for him.

Also, is Mulder on the trading block potentially.

Anyone have info on what might be going on?

as someone from st. louis: He sucks. He isnt a great FBB pitcher anyway. He doesnt strike anyone out, he walks people and puts people on base....and his ERA now sucks. He is pitching in the high 80's. Danny Haren is a better pitcher at this point (check their stats). I hope we get rid of him and get something back, because it seems obvious he wont be back. He will likely ask for the moon in FA, citing his win loss record (the best and most accurate stat to measure a pitcher---never mind the ever rising WHIP, ERA, and falling K/BB). Word is the team is getting fed up with him. Keep in mind that, at least to the fans, he was supposed to be the ACE we needed. Like :1Mulder, 2Carp, Suppan, Marquis, Ponson/Morris...

I wouldnt think he is more than a number three pitcher at this point. He insists nothing is wrong with him injury wise...but who pitches like THIS in his contract year...on a great winning team, with a great pitching coach...? Something doesnt add up. Hell and Hudson, for that matter, hasnt pitched that great for ATL either...whats up with that?

I am from St. Louis as well and agree with the post above me. Oakland totally ripped us off when we dealt Haren for Mulder. I would stay away from Mulder at this point. If you look at his 2nd half in Oakland in 2004, his stats in 2005, and his stats this year, you will see from his glory days in Oakland:

1.) A rising WHIP rate
2.) Less strikeouts
3.) Higher ERA
4.) Decreasing velocity

I would stay away from Mulder.

Yep and yep. Mulder wasn't a great fantasy option before the year cause he doesn't K a lot of hitters and his ERA and WHIP isn't anything special. Now his fastball tops out in the 80's and he is walking way too many hitters. Personally I hope the Cards can deal him for and OF.

I let him go a week ago after no one would trade for him. I had Scott Olsen take his place and haven't looked back. I could care less if someone picks him up, let them deal with the headache.
Basically I'm complicated.
I have a hard time taking the easy way
I wouldn't call it schizophrenia
But Ill be at least two people today

If that's OK

And I can go on, and on, and on...

But who cares?
