In one of my leagues today I had FIVE starters going. Fortunately, we can start seven pitchers a day (2 SP, 2 RP, 3 P) so I didn't have to pick and choose (though I did have to bench relievers Hasegawa and Marte). On a day like that (not that there are many days when you've got five starters going) you just hope to get a couple wins and that no one gets lit up to wreak your ERA and WHIP. But I got a heck of a lot more than that. Check out these numbers:
For the week, I have six wins and four saves in 10 appearances. Add in the fact that in my other league I got a win and a complete game from Halladay and a save from Mantei in my only two appearances and that's one hell of a day on the mound. I don't mean to gloat (well not too much anyway) but I've never had a single day like that, and don't expect to enjoy one like that again anytime soon (though I still have Wolf, Buehrle and another Harden start to go this week). Hopefully everyone else will get to enjoy a day like this (unless you own a team I'm playing of course).
"I'm telling ya, he jumped us. Gloves off, stick down, no warning. He challenged the Chiefs. Called us names. But Dave was there."
Yes doctor, I am sick. Sick of those who are spineless. Sick of those who feel self-entitled. Sick of those who are hypocrites. Yes doctor, an army is forming. Yes doctor, there will be a war. Yes doctor, there will be blood.....
