Doumit at this point is the limbo man. I really doubt he'll play much at all any more this year because his hamstring injury looks bad. Those normally don't heal very fast either. I have to assume that Cota will not be with us next year, especially if Paulino keeps hitting like he is.
The Pirates like Doumit's bat, but Paulino's defense and game-calling skills are markedly better, plus he's hitting .320. The starter's ERA when he's catching is about 3.5 compared to over 6 for anyone else (most of that is Perez but still
