Russ Martin should put up solid numbers in a full season. Someone earlier mentioned Navarro should he be traded and starting, and I must say that I agree. He has good potential.

I nabbed Martin a few days before he started playing full time and missed Napali by about 20 minutes in my keeper league. Those two are under most owner's radar and can be picked up from the FA pile most places. They're both excellent.

Does anyone know if Jeremy Brown is coming up or if he's doing much? I read about him in Moneyball and some of the guys from his draft class are starting to get called up (Swisher for one) and I'm wondering if he's still the bee knees.

If you're looking at Pirates, then you'll want to look to Ronny Paulino right now. Presently he's leading all rookies in batting average, and his OBP is .373 right now. He isn't showing any power, but supposedly he can hit it pretty hard. He should for as big as he is...

Doumit at this point is the limbo man. I really doubt he'll play much at all any more this year because his hamstring injury looks bad. Those normally don't heal very fast either. I have to assume that Cota will not be with us next year, especially if Paulino keeps hitting like he is.

The Pirates like Doumit's bat, but Paulino's defense and game-calling skills are markedly better, plus he's hitting .320. The starter's ERA when he's catching is about 3.5 compared to over 6 for anyone else (most of that is Perez but still ). I don't see him losing the main catching duties any time this year.

I picked up Martin when Posada got hurt. Since then I struggle with not starting him in a keeper H2H league with weekly lineups. He's that good so far.

Posada is my starter until his knee buckles. Martin is my guy for next season, tho, in a weak overall field.

i traded away willingham for posada. i was debating between martin and napoli as potential backups..
