No, Josh Bard is not that guy. First off all, he isn't even a full-time catcher. And he has gotten just 83 and 19 ab's the past 2 years for a reason.
Russell Martin would be my choice, but that begs the question of what the Dodgers will do with Dioner Navarro. If they trade him, he could end up starting somewhere else. He has some nice upside IMHO. He was coveted by the Dodgers when they got him from the Yankees.

That's not true. Saltalamacchia's hitting .200 in AA, though he's getting hot as of late. There's no reason to believe the Braves like him more than McCann, they LOVE McCann.
The Braves will NOT move McCann from the catcher position, ever. Quote me if you wish.
I think the Braves would like to move Adam LaRoche (who I believe is a soon to be FA) and give Salty the #1 1B position and backup catcher spot at the start of the season next year.
I wouldn't hand the job to Mathis just yet. I think Napoli has something to say about that. He hit two more hrs last night. Mathis may hit in the minors but does nothing in the majors where it counts.
