Also, fyi, "cooking off the alcohol" is a myth; if you cook with wine or liquor, it's impossible to actually cook it enough so that the alcohol burns off. Just in case you feel like making some chicken marsala for your recovering alcoholic uncle ted.
So on a side note: Last night I had no beer in the house except for a Hefe and a Guiness Extra Stout.
I don't like either of them.
So I mixed them together making a Hefenstouten.
It was terrible
Wow, I guess opposites don't attract. Did you try throwing an orange slice in there?

I love Weizens, Witbiers and White Ales. Very refreshing on a hot day. That banana taste is the yeast, since they're usually unfiltered and bottle conditioned.

Nice, but here's mine in no particular order:
Belgian Strong Ales (Pale and Dark)
Weizen (Hefe and Dunkel)
Russian Imperial Stout
Barley Wine
Dubbel, Tripel and the elusive Quadrupel
IPA (English more so than American)
English Brown Ales
ESB
There are some great lagers too, like Doppelbocks, Dortmunders and Maibocks.
