The judge ruling the case stated that because of the unusual nature of the crime jail time would not be a deterent to others who may want to jump out on a baseball field and attack a coach. Can this ruling be appealed? I have no faith in a judicial system that lets idiots like this get off with a slap on the wrist.
What do you think would have happened to a Royals player if he would have hit the attacker with a baseball bat. He would have gotten jail time because they would have said unprovoked assault with a deadly weapon or maybe that he wasn't defending himself by nailing the guy with a bat. Just like if someone is robbing your house and twists his ankle on your kids toy and has to miss work, he can sue you, it's true!
I mean, the guy has hearing loss. What was this judge thinking?

This law would enable a judge to throw a lawyer and his client in jail together for a period of time if a ridiculous lawsuit is written up. Threatening the lawyer would cause this intelligent scumbag to think twice before representing morons. Too bad I'm a desk jockey.
I'm also thinking of putting a sign in my yard that says, if you hurt yourself in my yard and sue, I'm going to hurt my fist through your face and sue.
now you're speaking my language...
