I picked him up a week ago because of his high K/BB ration, high Ks in general and the fact that he saves games. All ive gotten out of him is a couple blown saves, one save, a ton of runs and not much else. I want to drop him. Would you drop him for Jay Payton, Placido Palanco, Marte, Webb, Sheets, or Macdougal? Ive had Mac and Marte before and they both frustrated me, but no where near what Gordon has done. Let me know what you think
Webb is still availiable? Is this a 2 team league? Go get Webb right now!
Yes doctor, I am sick. Sick of those who are spineless. Sick of those who feel self-entitled. Sick of those who are hypocrites. Yes doctor, an army is forming. Yes doctor, there will be a war. Yes doctor, there will be blood.....

Jay Payton - If I needed a decent OF I would.
Polanco - Probably not unless I needed a quick IF fill-in.
Marte - Yes. Who knows who closes there but he's got the better stuff.
Webb - Hell yeah!! Pick him up NOW!!
Sheets - If Webb somehow got picked up, then go with him. Quietly turned it on this year.
MacDougal - I would flip a coin. Make sure that your blood pressure is in check.
It depends on what you need. If what you need is a closer, MacDougal is a better bet than either Marte or Gordon because he doesn't have to share the job. Yes, he'll hurt your WHIP and is very combustible, but will get the saves.
Polanco bats ahead of Abreu and Thome in a great lineup, so he's a good bet if what you need is runs. Payton has been very solid overall this year, and produces a bit in every category.
For the pitchers, both Webb and Sheets are too good to be on waivers. Webb is probably the better bet, unless you really need K's, in which case Sheets is a very high strikeout rate pitcher.
I chose Marte over Flash. I watch the Sox alot and Marte is usually there to bail out Flash. He picks up occasional wins, occasional saves and almost always has a good 1 or 2 inning outing. He has been struggling a bit lately against KC but overall he is a solid pickup especially in H2H league that I'm in.
i agree, the anger should be deferred to manuel. this guy is an idiot. flash throws 45 pitches on monday after being left in too long in a game the chisox were already LOSING, and he then proceeds to bring flash into the game today in a NON-SAVE situation (why?? to get some work since he didn't throw 44 pitches 2 days ago?) the worst part is seeing that stupid "jerry manuel" face (invented by, yes, jerry manuel) where it looks like you are oblivious to everything happening around you and you have this feeling you SHOULD be doing something but aren't sure what....wow, do i sound like a bitter fantasy owner or what??
