i'd second williamson. the red sox have said, pretty much all along, that kim will go back to starting next year. i think he's better as a closer, but they'll probably go into next year with bullpen depth and looking for another starter (burkett is in the final year of his contract).
i think farnsworth will get a chance to close next year. i'm just not sure what team that will be with. borowski has bee solid all year. it's tough to take away a guys job for no good reason.
flloyd wrote:What's the deal with Zimmerman and Cordero in Texas? RotoTimes and RotoWorld kind of make it sound like Zimmerman would be the primary closer if he came back healthy. What's the word for the rest of this year and next year if Zimmerman is 100% healthy?
Zimmerman will be coming back from injury and with Cordero has stepped up and done the job. He did very well in the closer's role last year, and he's doing well again this year. If the Rangers are confident that Zimmerman is 100% healthy and ready to go, then I would say that they might make a trade. Personally (I live about 20 minutes from the Ballpark) I think Cordero will close next year no matter what happens with Zimmerman. Zim will be setting up Cordero unless Cordero melts down this year or next. I don't see that happening though.
Yes doctor, I am sick. Sick of those who are spineless. Sick of those who feel self-entitled. Sick of those who are hypocrites. Yes doctor, an army is forming. Yes doctor, there will be a war. Yes doctor, there will be blood.....

No problem. Let's just hope that they stick with that.

OH NO... the Cubbies tried Farnsworth closing a couple of years ago...didn't go very well at all...Farns has the pitches to do the job, he just doesn't have the mentality...
