I'm not sure how old he is, but i can pretty much assure you it's not what it says on his birth certificate. If his birth certificate was right to begin with, which is probably not, it was almost certainly changed along the way, as is the case with the majority of Dominican players. I go to the Dominican Republic at least once or twice a year and have many friends there. I can tell you at least 70% of them don't have birth certificates or even know their age well. It's not so entrenched in the culture there as it is here.
That being said, i would venture to guess Pujols is closer to 30 than 26. That takes nothing away from his accomplishments IMO he is still an amazing player, just not 26.
How old you "look" doesn't mean much. I'm 20, but people were guessing that I was 25 back when I was 17. Recently I grew a goatee and now I don't even get carded. Beyond that, I think most people have a difficult time guessing the age of other races. I want to hear how old some Dominicans think he is.
In that picture, he sure looks 20 years old to me.

i know this isnt the first time his age was discussed. he came to the US and went to high school. some schools protested and thought he was too old. the high school athletic association in KC looked into it and determined pujols actually had another year of hs eligibility if he wanted it. the cardinals have said they looked into it and satisfied themselves that his age was accurate. that doesnt guarantee anything but his age has been heavily scrutinized before and no one has been able to uncover anything that indicates he is lying about his age.
You know, there is a big difference between trying to obtain records from the Dominican and trying to obtain records from a place like Cuba. I don't think it'd be easy for someone like Pujols to keep it hidden for THIS long.

Not necessarily. Sometimes those documents are simply flawed or do not exist. The average hospital in Cuba is of higher quality than the average hospital in the D.R. I don't know what the conditions of Pujols' brith is, but it is very possible he simply does not have reputable documentation of his age. He obviously has some sort of documentation now, but that does not necessarily mean it's correct.
