I've been tracking Carlos Gonzalez this season and he seems to be lighitng it up....when can we expect to see him in the bigs with that crowded/talented AZ OF?
He's a 30 HR, 100RBI guy, right?
Better to be king for a night than schmuck for a lifetime.
He should probably be up in a couple years as long as he continues to progress. Gonzo and Green should be departing soon and open up some room for him, that is unless he is passed by Upton. It's going to be interesting to see what they do with their four really good OF prospects, someone will obviously have to be moved/traded. The stats you posted are a pretty good mark for his potential.
I imagine the player that has the best chance of being traded is Quentin considering all the rest are either super prospects (Upton and Gonzalez) or players they traded for (Young). The fact that they desperately need starting pitching now is reason to believe that they may be forced to move him. They really don't have too many players outside of Young, Gonzalez, Drew, Upton, and Quentin aside from their promising pitching prospects that would be enticing enough to lure a top arm from another team. Although this may be true I also think there is good chance they will deal Hairston, who is raking at Triple A, to get a Sp at the deadline. All in all, I strongly believe moving Gonzalez, Upton, or Young would destroy the DBacks' chances to be an elite organization later on down the road.
I agree what that, Quentin is the one I think they should eventually trade. He is a very good solid prospect, but I think the rest will ultimately just be better. And like you said, they could really use another pitcher or two.
Well Upton for sure is staying in CF, there is no way they move him ... his tools are just that good. Chris Young will most likely be pushed off to a corner spot unless they eventually trade him before Upton comes up.
Simple question.
Is his name Carlos Gonzalez or Carlos Gonzales? I see it spelled both ways. Maybe it is interchangeable either way?
I know it's a small detail, but I'm just curious.

Good question, I have no idea and neither does Baseball America which is somewhat odd. The Lancaster's team site has it spelled with a "Z" right now, so maybe that is the correct spelling.

Carlos Gonzalez, of, Diamondbacks (High Class A Lancaster) Even the Diamondbacks could not verify the spelling of his name with 100 percent certainty, but we have settled on a 'Z,' until further notice. No matter the letter, he is raking and 15-for-37 this month, be wary of the 62-17 strikeout-walk ratio on the season.
