Gordon didn't fare much better today, he let up two singles and then a homer to Beltran. Still in progress.

... And enter Damaso Marte. I have Marte, Colon, and Gordon on my AL-Only team, I hope I can get a W and a SV out of this. Maybe then it would be worth the 3 ER.

Does anybody see Billy Koch getting another shot, since Flash hasn't been too great as of late (I've got Flash and Marte...high price today for 1 save :,-(...I had Politte last night, too)? However, Koch hasn't been too great, either...he's given up plenty of stuff when he's been in.

Marte IS better, and after today I think he might be getting th bulk of the save opps. I dont think Manuel trusts Gordon anymore... and who would

I think Gordon has better RAW stuff, but he is erratic and I think Marte can handle the closer role better. And Marte is not the ONLY lefty in the pen, but he is the best, so I can see why Manuel is reluctant to use him in the closer role

Koch has been horrific lately, and apparently his velocity is down and mechanics are all screwed up. He won't be closing this year again. Gordon is still likely going to get the most saves, because Marte is so lights out as a lefty setup man that they won't want to save him to pitch a clean 9th, and will instead use him to get out of jams earlier in the game.

I don't know what it is with Koch. I thought that I did well for myself on draft day when I drafted Sasaki and Koch back to back in the 10th and 11th rounds. Luckily, I traded him during that short stretch when he pitched well. If you see him pitch, he doesn't even look like he's trying. He looks like a BP pitcher and that is the way he's been getting hit as well.

koch sucks, "flash" is a joke. they won't advance in the playoffs if manuel, if he isn't fired already givees the ball to gordon. like i said earlier, gordon screwed up big time for the stros last year. in fact i went to a game where he blew the lead, everyone left minute maid pretty mad. :-t oswalt was on the mound too.
