At what point does the trade become official when a trade is made. I've had trades overturned because of a injury during the pending period by the commish but if a dl stint is announced the day the trade goes through is that just tough luck for the person who go the player sent to the dl?
my example I just traded away berkman for harden
this morning i wake up and see that the trade went through and that harden is on the dl
I'm not necessarily complaining about it to the commish but i'm curious what the policies in other leagues are

It's a very gray area, and I'm sure you'll hear a lot of varying opinions- it's been discussed before to death here. Just do a search for "Matsui".
IMO, unless your league rules explicitly have a case for this, you're stuck. I'd ask the other owner if he'd negate the trade (esp. assuming you've got some 2-day window to allow vetos). Or, you could ask another owner to call for veto.
As for Harden, I'd be hard-pressed to accept a trade-back. He's a known injury risk, and he's (hopefully) not out for long.

If both teams accept a deal, the judgement (whether it comes from the commissioner or league vote) on whether the deal is processed, is made contingent upon the injury status of said players at the time that the trade was agreed to by both teams involved in the deal (pre-injury in your case).

When the "accept button" is hit...
Sean Tracey has my apologies, we all know Ozzie Guillen is an idiot. I'm rooting for you!

I wish that were true, when I accepted Pujols for Santana on the day of Pujols's injury

Thats what I tried to say when a deal went down involving Matsui in my most competitive league. Most disagreed with me. I thought it was total BS.
Basically when you hit the accpet button you are accepting the trade and what ever happens to the players after that doesn't matter. The league should only judge the trade at the time it's accepted. That player should be on the other team if not for the veto process.
Barry Bonds for US president.
