It isn't because it is a uneven trade, it is because you both have players on the DL who aren't anymore. Before you can make any transactions you will have to drop a player, either the player on the DL, or another and activate the player on the DL.

What if the trade is accepted, and during the pending period a player comes off the DL (but you keep him there). Will the trade go through?

I have never had that happen, but I assume the trade would be held up until the roster was corrected.

make sure both players are off the DL in the next days lineup.
