Harden to the DL

Postby dundeeslugger » Thu Jun 08, 2006 11:40 am

I heard on mlb radio fantasy 411 that Harden is on the DL again retro to June 5th.

I haven't seen this on rotoworld or anywhere else.

According to CBS Sportsline:

News: Oakland placed Rich Harden (elbow) back on the 15-day disabled list Thursday. He has a sprained ligament that was revealed through an MRI exam.

Analysis: Harden will likely be shut down for a number of days before the team re-evaluates him. We expect Esteban Loaiza to get a shot at replacing him in the rotation.

:,-(

I can't buy any good luck. I'm in 11th place trying to make a move i have sheff, harden, and colon on the dl. It looked like colon and harden woudl be back and BAM now harden is back on the dl...

Bad luck this year. I have Peavy too so if my luck holds out i'm sure he is headed to the DL soon too :(

Harden lasted just one start between injuries, coming off the DL from a back problem last week and going back on the DL with elbow issues now. The A's reportedly don't expect Harden to need surgery, but an elbow problem is bad news. Esteban Loaiza replaces Harden in the rotation. Jun. 8 - 12:25 pm et

Just unreal ... just as my team had enough guys come off DL that I don't have to waste bench spots for DLed players this happens. I must make this my mantra for next year: I must NEVER EVER EVER use a good draft pick (or trade away value) for an injury prone player. And if there was any doubt before this season -- Rich Harden is offically an injury prone player.

Yeah, welcome back to my DL Mr. Harden.

Now the question is....who to pick up for him in my 12-team, AL-only, keeper league?

Some options include:

Rheinecker - is he for real?
Dessens - can he thrive in a setup/long relief role?
Pauley - will he stay in rotation or get sent down?
Keppel - is he for real (plus he plays for KC)?
Silva - will he stay back in the rotation?

* Hansen and Lester are both already taken.

Which of the above would you consider, and please list any that I didn't mention.

Thanks!
