Do any a's fans have any insight on him? I was expecting a lot more out of him after his fantastic 2nd half in 2005 in which he increased his k rate by a good amount. But this year, he isn't living up to my expectations.. The thing is, I don't see too much wrong with his numbers, his walk rate is fine and he has only given up 4 hrs in 67 innings.

Does anyone have any info that will comfort me??


by the way, I think this is my first post.. Long time reader, long time fantasy baseball player, 1st place in most of my leagues, blah blah blah.. But i definetly plan to start posting more often and I hope to learn alot along the way.

Blanton is a classic example of an only average pitcher, struggling more and more the longer hitters become familiar with him.

Over 75% of pitchers regress in their second season, some are good enough to make adjustments and come back. Blanton has only average stuff but has good control and shows good poise so may well make the necessary adjustments to compete at this level in the future. As for this season, I wouldn't hold your breath.

i never knew the number was that high, although, regress could mean a lot of things.
