Re-ranking some of Baseball America's top 100

Postby in10s » Wed Jun 07, 2006 7:20 pm

I'm in an NL only league, and unfortunately playing for next year. I need you experts to re-rank these top 100 prospects. The number is the original Baseball America Rank:

2) JUpton Ari OF
8) JSaltalam Atl C
16) IStewart Col 3B
19) ALaRoche LAD 3B
20) CQuentin Ari OF
23) CYoung Ari OF
25) TTulowitz Col SS
32) CGonzalez Ari OF
43) NWalker Pit C
50) AMcCutche Pit OF
65) MSanders SFG SS/2b

So, based on what has happened in the minors this year, would you leave the ranks the same? Or move anyone up/down?

Thanks for any help.

Well of the ones you listed I don't think the actual season has made a big difference in how they would of been ranked.

2) JUpton Ari OF - Still an elite talent, was hitting .330 before a recent slump
8) JSaltalam Atl C - You have this one wrong, he was ranked #18. I think it was a bit to high considering I doubt he would stay at C. His struggling in AA w/ the question of being a C, makes me move him down a bit.
16) IStewart Col 3B
19) ALaRoche LAD 3B - A bit high for me, but I thought that before the season
20) CQuentin Ari OF
23) CYoung Ari OF - I thought before the season he was a better prospect then Quentin and still do
25) TTulowitz Col SS
32) CGonzalez Ari OF - really starting to pick it up, should continue
43) NWalker Pit C - been hurt so hard to say
50) AMcCutche Pit OF
65) MSanders SFG SS/2b - struggling at the beginning of the year but still like him

based on how things are playing out w/their parent club, i like the colorado SS a little more..w/barmes struggling, he could earn the starting job in ST in 07..i dont see too many of the others having a full time job that early

Well he has to many games/AB's to be considered a prospect anymoe. It's also pretty safe to say he has been passed on by Quentin and Young. I'm personally surprised they haven't used him for trade bait yet.

I think McCutchen gets moved up on the list. The guy is an elite talent, IMO, a bit below Justin Upton in terms of power potential. He could move as fast as Milledge did for the Mets.

Ian Stewart has had a rough go of it lately, I wouldn't be shocked to see him fall a bit in the rankings.
