Haren, Acevedo or Shields?

Postby Hyde » Tue Aug 05, 2003 11:24 pm

Who would you pick out of these 3 for just the rest of this season. Haren is on a good hitting team, but I've never seen him pitch. Jose Acevedo has great stats in his 3 starts, but haven't seen him pitch either. Scot Shields I have seen pitch and he has great stuff. They are letting him start now that they cut Appier. So who would you take?

Haren, followed by Acevedo. Shields is a good pitcher, but is unlikely to go past 5-6 innings, which really hurts his chances of scoring W's.

Haren
Acevedo/Shields---Shields did well starting earlier this year, but got beat up his last time out. If he does well in his next start, I rank him over Acevedo.
