I've played Project Gotham 3 on a big screen high definition TV and it was very, very sweet!![]()
Just in case anyone's interested, I was in a (used to be Funcoland--can't remember what it's called now) so my son could buy a few new games for his Game Boy and I got to talking to one of the workers there and he told me that Microsoft told them that they will be dropping the price of the 360 to $199 and $299 when PS3 hits the market right before Christmas. Anyone looking to buy one anytime soon, you might wait just a bit.![]()
Oh and oddly enough, I've got a relative in Seattle and he mentioned that the 360 had just dropped to $299 and $399 after hitting the stores at $399 and $499. Seems very odd to me that the 360 would cost more up there originally, so can anyone confirm that to be true?
Not to be hating, but most of that sounds like rumor-mongering drawn from a pretty obvious conclusion. Its no guarantee, but there is a good chance Microsoft will drop the price 50-100.
Well, when an employee of the store tells me something like that, I tend to believe them. Not saying it's true, but my own personal opinion is that he's telling the truth.
And no, it's not an obvious conclusion that Microsoft will drop the price, seeing as how they are at $299 and $399 while the PS3 is going to hit at $499 and $599. Microsoft already has Sony beat on price point by a significant margin ($200 per machine), so it is not an obvious conclusion that Microsoft will in fact drop their price.
All I did was pass along what an employee told me, and asked a question about the prices up north. I wouldn't say that's "rumor mongering" at all, but that's me.
