I think it was something more along the lines of a pitch count. According to Yahoo, in that short of time, he threw 75 pitches, and averaged 88-91 mph.

Baby steps. We are probably going to have to put up with this for a few more starts.

Ya I don't think it's anything to worry about. At this point, you should know what to expect out of Wood. The main thing right now is him building up arm strength and getting closer to looking like his old self for the fantasy playoff stretch run in August and September!

I'm actually fairly concerned after watching that game. It looked like he was throwing batting practice up there.

Wood didn't receive enough rehab before he made his debut a couple weeks ago. He didn't have the benefit of Spring Training either. It's gonna take him a little while to find his groove. Maddux has been working with Wood, and you're more than likely gonna see a change in how he pitches this year. Once he gets his velocity back, his control will appear and I think you'll see another dominating version of Kerry Wood. However, this time around I think he'll rely on the groundball more than the K.
