I believe if the A's trade for Jose Mesa, Mile Williams, or Mike Dejean to be their closer next year that guy would do the same. Well maybe not. LOL

But the best fantsasy closer now the last 2 years has come from the A's

?! You do mean the best fantasy closer in the *AL* don't you?

i dont know about you, but i would rather have someone with 40 saves and 11 wins than one with 50-something saves.

True, but Gagne gets not only more saves but more IP, more Ks, and a better ERA if not a better WHIP.

but foulke will get the ball more times than any other closer this half. the dodgers cant win, and the braves cant stop blowing out their opponents, if the braves bullpen didnt give up so many runs, i guarantee smoltz wouldnt even have 20 saves right now.

We don't ask how they get the numbers just as long as they get them.

I follow MLB just as much as the next guy but unless I'm an A's fan, I want good numbers from him or anyone else if they're on my team.

If you cared about nothing other than how the A's do, it doesn't matter whether you get 11 wins and 40 saves or 51 saves because that means that the team won 51 times. It seems like you were looking at the numbers as well.

I follow the MLB a lot because of interest and because of fantasy leagues. I do find myself rooting for players and teams that I normally wouldn't. Does that make me less of a fan? I don't think so.

of course i look at numbers, but if you dont look at how the players get the numbers, it totally defeats the purpose of even caring for the sport. everyone roots for players and teams that they usually dont.
