but foulke will get the ball more times than any other closer this half. the dodgers cant win, and the braves cant stop blowing out their opponents, if the braves bullpen didnt give up so many runs, i guarantee smoltz wouldnt even have 20 saves right now.
I follow MLB just as much as the next guy but unless I'm an A's fan, I want good numbers from him or anyone else if they're on my team.

If you cared about nothing other than how the A's do, it doesn't matter whether you get 11 wins and 40 saves or 51 saves because that means that the team won 51 times. It seems like you were looking at the numbers as well.
I follow the MLB a lot because of interest and because of fantasy leagues. I do find myself rooting for players and teams that I normally wouldn't. Does that make me less of a fan? I don't think so.
of course i look at numbers, but if you dont look at how the players get the numbers, it totally defeats the purpose of even caring for the sport. everyone roots for players and teams that they usually dont.
