Great info. Unfortunately, USUALLY when a closer has a lot of wins, it means that the saves, ERA, and WHIP suffer because of a usual blown save.

Good thing for us Foulke owners, he has a good ERA and WHIP. He's blown 4 saves. He just gets more opportunities for wins than closers like Smoltz because the A's will put him in the game when they're tied. Smoltz rarely comes in in those situations.

Because of his wins, Foulke has actually outscored Smoltz in my points league, who was taken 11 rounds higher than I took Foulke.

LaTroy Hawkins of the Twins has 9 wins. Awesome ERA, WHIP, etc. numbers, too.

Haven't most of those stud pitchers that you listed been on the DL one or multiple times this year? I think without those trips, those guys would be putting up much better numbers. Just an observation.

Oh yeah, but back to Foulke, he is putting up one heck of a season, very nice, I wish I had him to boast about, but alas I don't.

2002 Koch: 11 wins, 44 saves, 93 K's. 3.27 era, 1.27 whip

2003 Foulke: 8 wins, 28 saves, 61 k's, 2.44 era, .97 whip
(2 months left)

I believe if the A's trade for Jose Mesa, Mile Williams, or Mike Dejean to be their closer next year that guy would do the same. Well maybe not. LOL

But the best fantsasy closer now the last 2 years has come from the A's
