just use the indians platoon in broussard and perez, perez is hitting .324 with 7 hrs and 20 rbis in only 71 ABs against lefties...and that way u always know one of them will be playing

Exactly...why worry about picking up two guys from different teams that may be facing the wrong handed pitcher on the same day. The Broussard/Perez combo has put up the following stats this year (keep in mind they may have some overlap here as they both could have played in the same game a bit with pinch hit appearances, etc):
225ab 77h 16double 0triple 15hr 13bb 42k 41r 49rbi
That comes out to a .342/.378/.613/.991 line out of two waiver wire players. I wouldn't expect that average to regress much either...maybe into the .311-.326 range (assuming a BABIP of .300-.320).

Dang, I think I've just talked myself into Perez/Broussard in all of the leagues I can afford to use 2 roster spots. That two-headed monsters is a stud. ;-D

Filling the Pujols gap

Trying a Connor Jackson/Adam Laroche platoon.... The right matchups, a few hot streaks, I might survive the next 6 weeks without too much drop off.

Everything would need to work out perfectly for you in order to not have a significant dropoff. Pujols is by far the best 1B, even guys like Ortiz, Thome, and Tiexiera are a bit of a dropoff.

If Frank Thomas had 1B eligibilty you wouldnt lose much in the HR category, but he doesnt.

I just traded Ha. Ramirez and Otsuka for Bo. Crosby and David Ortiz in my 16 team keeper league. Now that's what I call a replacement.
