Beckett???????????????????????

What is with this guy....He's killing me!!!!!

I think the adjustment to the AL is too much for him-his ERA is way too high and he can't seem to throw his curve for strikes. The Yanks teed off on him yesterday.

I benched him in place of Haren. Hopefully Beckett gets his act together.

Gammons predicted Beckett would win the Cy Young, and Crosby would be the MVP. Got both-thanks, Pete! I'm barely holding on to 2nd place.

Gammons is an idiot. I usually listen to what he says, and then believe the opposite. I could cite numerous "trade rumors" he said would never happen....and then less than a week after he shoots it down the trade goes through.

I'm getting sick of Beckett as well on my team....that 47.25 era yesterday pretty much screws ya outta whip and era for the week in H2H.

Since his first three starts, where he gave up 3 runs over 21 innings, his ERA stands at just under 7. Is there something wrong with him? Please tell me he's hurt, and not just sucking this bad for no reason.

I had Beckett starting...he caused me to fall from #1 to #3 in ERA and from #1 to #2 in WHIP and caused me to fall from first to a half-point ahead of third place! :~(

Luckily though, I had Brandon Webb going as well...he soften the blow somewhat. !+)

The Yanks schedule has weighted his starts unnaturally to some tough teams early in the season, and his bad starts happen to be against teams that could really mash and were seing him for the 2nd time in a relatively short period of time... Had he had his off days against average teams, the #s would be better.

The other good news is, he's got his velocity, so it's not a physical issue, it's just mechanics that need a little work, way easier to fix than a bad elbow.

I look forward to him blowing away the relatively virgin AL West and Central in the coming months.
