Hes been great for the phils this year. Hes been very reliable too not letting up more than 3 er in any start this year. All he is lacking is wins and his whip could be a little better. What do you all think?
I have been big on Brett Myers since he has come into the league, he is a very good strikeout pitcher and he can really help out a fantasy club (and a real club) otherwise.
Yep he's been very solid. I was trying to get him but his previous owner traded him to someone else in my league. He's a very good pitcher and I'd be happy to have him anytime.

Props given here. Mr Consistency, great pitcher, some more run support would be nice. But i've seen most of his starts and when he is on...it's fun to watch. The one flaw i'd say that was evidenced in todays game that I have a gripe with is the reaction time and/or speed at which it takes him to cover 1st base on some of these grounders to the right side. On two occasions he got over a little late, which cost him base hits that lead to runs being scored. That being said, for a pitcher, that isn't a major flaw fantasy wise, and it shouldn't be hard to fix.

I agree that Myers is a really solid pitcher...but shouldn't we wait until he puts together a full season of good results before we annoint him a "top" starter? He was fantastic in the first half of the season last year as well, and came back to earth in the 2nd half. I'd worry about that happening again this year. Like I said, he's good, but I'm not going to pursue a trade for him at this point.

Last season was a full season of good results. After the all-star break he was 7-3, 4.32 ERA, 100 IP, 96 Hits, 33 BB, 95 K's. That is no decline , in fact, i'd sign on a dotted line if I could guarantee these results for him this season, or any pitcher for that matter.
