Why has he been getting benched for a game or two a week lately? He's been arguably the Rockies best hitter this year (he was on fire in the beggining of the year when Holliday was playing terribly), and it's a bit ridiculous to keep sitting a guy who has been hitting as well as he has. Do they hate him there? Or has it been some nagging injury that is not getting much talk?

As a Hawpe and a Helton owner, I have not been happy at all. Helton was doing ok at the beginning of the year, right? Has he just not been the same since he came back from the DL a while ago?

They usually bench him against lefties, because he can't hit them.

Get rid of him now if you can. Thats my only advice.

His average has plummeted and he is getting sat a lot of games now. His power numbers are also down. It's not a good sign when they don't try to move him to the 3-4 spot in the order and just keep him in the back of the order. I guess they don't see him as quite the matt holliday2 that everyone thought he would be.

Why do you say that?

He's been pretty solid this year, and I haven't really seen any red flags that would indicate he's going to regress at all.

Just opinion, or do you some specific info?

I have been happy with Hawpe all year....I never expected these numbers.....talk about ungrateful ......he might be an all star this year

check his stats in the last 20/25 games
