Anyone know if Anaheim is planning on making some room soon for Kendrick to get a permanant spot. Especially since Kennedy has cooled off from his hot start and only hit .224 in May. At least offensively, Kendrick is more than ready for the majors. He's hitting .390 with 6 HR in 146 AB this year in AAA and he has a .362 batting average over his entire minor league career.

Hope so, I got him in a keeper league, for $2

I was watching Sunday nights game, vs the Indians and Gammons mentioned they are working him out at 3B, so take it for what its worth, when he was up, I saw him playing at 1B, also......

Just hope they dont ruin this top prospect.

Thing is, the Angels have alot of infield prospects.

Wood
Aybar
Kendrick
Morales
McPherson

and SS-Cabrera is locked up, for 2 more years I think.

Kennedy is in the final year of his 3 year contract. He won't be re-signed.

Kendrick won't start over Kennedy while he is on the team, but they may trade him in the next month to get something for him, rather than just let him go as a free agent.

Kendrick won't get any significant time at 1B with Morales playing well and Kotchman waiting in the wings.

He also won't get any significant time at 3B because the Angels need to see what McPherson can do and they also need a place for Figgins when unfortunalely Erstad will come off the DL.

Bottom line: Kendrick starts at 2B next year (or this year if and when kennedy gets traded).

Very astute breakdown.

I fully expect Kennedy will be gone by the deadline, and Kendrick will take his place. You can pick up Kendrick now if you have space, otherwise i'd wait til the rumours start swirling around again to pick Kendrick up. Could turn your team around big time for nothing!

isn't Kendrick just an empty Batting average? just curious or does he have power potential?

I believe he has 7 dongs thus far in the minors but he projects as a 15-20 HR guy w/ a very high BA....

IMO he's much better in roto leagues.

He has the potential for some 20/20 HR and SB seasons to go along with his average. He's currently hitting just over .400 with 7 HR and 6 SB.

He's currently hitting .414 in AAA, has a slugging percentage of .675 and has 41 RBIs. There's nothing empty about that. I'm not really adding anything that wake didn't say, just trying to support it some more. People worry about his low walk totals, but he continues to hit regardless. You'd have to figure that the Angels are tempted to make room for him very soon. It's probably only a matter of time.
