The reason I'm benching Verlander is his last poor start against the Yankees, who was blown up despite the fact they didn't have Sheffield or Matsui. I'm not betting a good outing against the White Sox's stacked lineup. Hopefully he can rebound so I can bench/drop Lowry who I'm not fond of, but has a double start for Week 10- against the Marlins and Pirates.
I obviously have a lot of SB- just with my top 2 SB guys- Posednik and Crawford who are leading me by themselves (I have 20 more steal than the SB runner up). I also have Roberts in case I decide to ship out some speed for an upgrade somewhere. The dude in first place doesn't have much speed, I'm going to try to make a deal.
Based on the rosters above, any deals that would benefit me more than him? Any advice or comments would be greatly appreciated!!!
I would try and trade Kenny Rogers for Maggs. I don't think the old timer is going to keep it up this year, but Maggs just might, plus, you could sit B.Giles when he goes cold (which he inevtiabely will). Just a thought. Thanks for your help with mine.
While I am all for trading for needs, trading the only need your oppenent has to him just sounds like a bad idea to me. Trading away rogers, or arroyo, or both could be good. you would probly want some pitching back though. both guys can't keep up this pace, when arroyo comes around for the second time he will get hammered. I know, watching him as a sox fan. he's good enough for a few wins and a 4.5 ERA, but you can sell him as a much better pitcher right now.
