or at least for edmonds to start playing like he is capable. if edmonds and rolen are going good they can carry the team for a few weeks. i'm probably more worried about a marquis/mulder/suppan suckfest. a pujols-less cards team can score enough runs to win a few games with normal pitching, but sunday aside, will probably struggle to score enough to overcome marquis/mulder when they pitch as bad as they are capable of pitching.

i know rodriguez has improved his k/bb ratio and still hits doubles but it'd be nice if he hit a home run every now and then. so far the pitchers combined have out-homered j.rod+molina+bennet. kind of sad.

I was thinking the same think JD. Besides Carp the rest of the rotation isn't going to be throwing many shutouts. The Cards are going to have to score 4-5 runs a game to win most times.

definitely. the pitching staff needs a shot in the arm and that shot isnt steroids but anthony reyes, his goofy socks, his flat brim, and his k/bb ratio.

vivaelbirdoshad a write up on it yesterday. the cardinals staff is getting out pitched by cincinnati, who supposedly doesnt have the pitching to stick in first place.
