RANCHO CUCAMONGA – Bartolo Colon allowed two hits in four innings in his first rehabilitation start since going on the disabled list on April 16 with an injured right shoulder.
Colon threw 47 pitches in the four-inning stint for the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes, the Angels' Class A affiliate. Of his 47 pitches, 31 were strikes. He walked one batter and caught three batters looking at third strikes.
Colon, the 2005 American League Cy Young winner, is expected to throw a bullpen session this weekend with another start at Triple-A Salt Lake City on Tuesday. He could return to the Angels by the following weekend (June 9-11) at Seattle.
