Contreras back to Yankee self?

Since his return from the DL he's been pretty shaky. Is he still injured?

I think that the DL helped bring him back down to earth. He has great stuff, he has always had great stuff, but I dont think he has the pitchers mentality to be a great as he was before his trip the DL.

When he throws so well for such a long stretch, I really don't think it's wise to get down on a guy soo quickly. I am the last person who would draft Contreras but I don't think he will fall of the earth this season.

It's not that bad. His first start since returning should have been a win and only 2 ERs but the ChiSox relief blew the game for him. His next start he allowed only one run. This was his first shaky start, playing against one of the top offenses in the league. Even though he isn't up there with the elite tier of pitchers, he definitely has emerged as the ace of that staff. There's not much to worry about.

He had 2 good starts coming off the DL, but last night wasnt so pretty.

He wasnt even getting hit hard. Only a double, and a whole bunch of weak infield singles and bloop hits. Control was his issue yesterday.

I still think he is a very good #3 pitcher.

Contreras was dominant the time before this one when he pitched in Toronto, 7 IP, 1ER. I'm not sure if Contreras ERA will remain below 3 this year, but he's still a solid fantasy pitcher.
...Boston papers now and then suffer a sharp flurry of arithmetic on this score; indeed, for Williams to have distributed all his hits so they did nobody else any good would constitute a feat of placement unparalleled in the annals of selfishness. -Updike

Toronto has been a better offensive team than Clevaland this season, and Contreras shut them down only a week ago. I'm not worried.
