I just traded for him, thinking of buying a solid catcher at a low price...do you think he can turn it around or will he continue to fall off the charts?

I'd have to agree with nextyear on this one. Anyone who thought that Willingham would keep that pace up was nuts. He's still got all the tools to bat .300 and hit 25 HR's along with 75-80 RBI's. Anyone that's batting cleanup after Hanley Ramirez and Miguel Cabrera will have plenty of RBI opps. Plus, he's going to get about 100 more AB's than most other catchers, and that's a good thing in my book! Good trade. ;-D

I don't want to flat out drop Willingham...but I'm dangerously close to just benching him and leaving an open C spot.

This is why I rarely mess with rookies, there's just no history to know what they'll do long term. WIllingham raked the minors, but that doesn't mean all that much, because in the majors, the pitching is so much better, and once they find your weakness, they'll pounce on that. obviously, it took the league a while to figure out what pitch either to throw or not to throw... To what degree Willingham can adjust is a big unknown. Some guys never do, some do a bit, some do great, and some become stars, but it's hard to predict and can take years.... That's why I stick with vets mostly. Vets have a track record and odds are, if they're cold, they'll heat back up soon.

I did grab Jared Weaver though after his first start. From what I saw in his first start, he's got stuff that you can only adjust to so much.

I gave up and dropped Josh for A.J. (Absolute Jacka**) Pierzynski.

Thanks for Josh and certain other offenders who will NOT remain nameless -- they are DUNN and ENSBERG -- I've fallen over the past month to 2 of 12 in the BA standings. Miraculously, I am clinging to second place. :-°

Yes. The only people who you can wish this on are AJ Pierzynski and maybe Barry Bonds.

bleh, this guy is just taking a roster spot since Johjima has actually been contributing lately and starting at C for the last couple of weeks.

I'm this close to dropping Willingham and picking up help on other places :-o
