I heard on the local radio station here that Guzman is being recalled. Keep an eye on the situation, he should be good.

SO I guess that means Aybar hitting .320 wasn't enough for the Dodgers...How many kids are they gonna call up that play the same exact positions.

Drew is in the lineup tonight, so apparently he's not hurt...Maybe Kent is going on the DL and Guzman will play second.

Guzman as stated before is actually an SS prospect who the Dodgers are turning into a super-utility type player for now -- last time I checked they had him working out at 1B/LF in the minors because they have Furcal and Izzy to play SS but he can play a little 3B too. They have high hopes for this kid and are trying to find a place for him on the team next year.

The Dodgers farm system is loaded, and has been for a while now.

As Don Sutton (I think it was Sutton) said about the 1974 Dodgers in the Sports Illustrated article "Those Rampaging Dodgers", "This is the culmination of something that's been coming for a long time."

Six Dodger rookies have been called up so far this year: Willy Aybar, Jonathon Broxton, Andre Ethier, James Loney, Russell Martin, Matt Kemp, and Joel Guzman. That's seven, but I think maybe Aybar is not technically a rookie.

Much of this is happening a few months to a year ahead of what most Dodger fans anticipated. But we knew it was coming.

And there's still lots more on the farm. Next up: Andy LaRoche and Chad Billingsley.

I heard his value is lower now because he is not doing well in the minor this year due to all these adjustments that Dodgers want him to do. But he is a big kid that could hit 40 HR in his career. So as a Dodger Fan I have high hope for him as well. But fantasy wise, he might not have any value right now.

Now we're talking. They are the two prospects I can't wait for the Dodgers to call up. ;-D
