Carlos Delgado (Merged)

What's up with this guy? His last nine games he has 7 games with no hits! He's batting .251, granted his power numbers are decent and if I didn't have Adrian Gonzalez and Lance Berkman on my team I think I'd be doing a lot worse than I am. Is he hurt, getting old or what?

im not sure what's happened to this guy.. i as expecting him to be a lot better than this when i traded early in the year for him.. but he hasn't done very well.. definetly expected more

I tried to trade him and Juan Rivera for Ryan Howard but that didn't work out and now my league's trade deadline has passed.

Looks like he is on the decline. But this year has been worse than I could ever have expected. With any luck, he'll pull out of the slump and show his former self. He just looks confused at this point, but still has flashes of brilliance.

Delgado still only hitting .216 against left handers and just .251 overall. I also can't see him hitting many more than 30 HR's or 100 RBI's. That's pathetic considering he's hitting clean up in that lineup.

He's also sitting more and more against lefties.

Career .282 hitter, very streaky in that category from year to year.

His power numbers are all still there for the most part, so I wouldn't be surprised to see him hit. .290-.300 35 110 next year. Just the way he goes..... and just the reason I don't usually have him on my team.

he just can't seem to hit LHP at all this year. i think that is the main problem. he can't hit it for AVG and he can barely hit against it for power. he is a second half player, and incredibly streaky, so stay tuned, he may have a run in him yet.

wow, that was a quick merge. anyways, i own delgado so i've been trying to look into what sox06 said about his ankle. the last bit of news that anyone has is about the knee he got hit with a pitch about half a month ago.

this year looks a lot like his 04 year in terms of the non-countable stats. his rate stats this year look nearly identical to 04 with the notable exception of his very poor BABIP this year. to me this seems like his skill set is not necessarily degrading, but that last year was just an extremely good year for him.
