Anyway, Tex and his lovely wife had their first kid right before the season started. Anybody think that those sleepless nights might have something to do w/ his slow start. I think the home/road splits might support this theory a little bit. Just throwing it out there.

Also, for the record, I think he'll turn it around.

Somebody actually did a study on this at one point in the past...don't remember where I read it but atheletes usually perform better after the birth of their first and second children and worse after the third and beyond (getting worse after every new kid).

As the father of a 6 year old daughter and twin 2 year old boys I can vouch for that pattern. !+)

Wouldn't 'post morteum stress disorder' be after you're dead? :-?

Dying can take quite a toll on you. I've heard the stress of it can kill you.
Let's go O's. Let's go Mets.

I was watching a game (maybe Sunday night baseball last week?) where they were breaking down his swing and showing how he's getting out on his front foot too much. This causes his back leg to collapse and puts all of his swing into his arms.

The guy has always been streaky as hell, and I'm sure he's going to go through a stretch this season where he absolutely rips the cover off the ball ala late '04. I'm looking to buy-low on him in almost every league I'm in! ;-D

absolutely true, thank you slomo. ;-D

he'll be just fine, sit back and wait for the fireworks.

But this is America. I want instant gratification. If he goes 0 for 4 one more time this year he's going to the WW. ;-7
