Burnett is younger and has been the better pitcher. Both contracts are high and you can add Morris, Millwood, and Washburn to that list too.

i dont know about discount but its definitely a good deal compared to the rest of the market. i'd rather have kelvim at 3 years 30 than many of the other contracts out there.
This is a pretty decent deal. Escobar is better than a lot of FA signings in that price ranges over the last 2-3 years. People quickly forget guys like Benson, Milton, Pavano, Clement, Wright, Weaver, etc... I'd much rather have Escobar over those guys.
