The element of surprise
I beg him not to surprise me anymore.
Glaus struck out in that at bat and Catalanotto got thrown out at third.
That play actually helped turned the game around, I think. Garland had already thrown like 27 pitches that inning (1st inning, with only one out), and the strikeout double play got him out of the inning and gave him a chance to settle down. Taubenheim then walked about the entire White Sox team in the 2nd inning, so the Jays were quickly down 4-0 in a game they could've easily been winning if they showed more patience in their 1st inning at bat.
You've got a diamond, You've got nine men You've got a hat and a bat, And that's not all..

To make the playoffs we're going to have to start going on some long streaks like Boston (8 games right now I believe), but with the rotation in shambles the way it is right now, I don't see that happening any time soon.

OK, I called this one like a month ago, but this series against the Nationals coming up is one the Jays absolutely have to take advantage of. They have Burnett and Halladay pitching two of the games, and Washington has a young pitcher going in the third. On top of the fact the Nationals really suck to begin with. A sweep here is very feasible. The Phillies coming in after that aren't much better. If the Jays are serious about contending this year, then cream puff teams like this are teams they have to pound on. Hopefully they should strive to go about 5-1 over the remainder of this homestand.
