The Mariners announced yesterday that Freddy will remain in the starting rotation after getting shelled again Friday by the White Sox (1.2 IP, 7 runs)... Manager Bob Melvin and Pitching Coach Bryan Price said they found no evidence of Garcia tipping his pitches when they watched the game film...
What is everyone's opinion on the move to stick with Garcia and let him work out of his funk? Two young pitchers have been lights out coming out of the pen for the M's (Julio Mateo and Rafael Soriano) - either could be groomed by post-season into a starter... so I ask...
Freddy Garcia - slump or chump?

CHUMP.
Boy I'm glad the Mariners kept him. That way my boys in the AL can tee off once in awhile. Nothing's more satisfying than seeing a Mariner SP go like... 2 innings and let up 101360182 runs.

I used to think highly of him, but he shows too much of this side. He looks like he's lost something somewhere along the way. So I have to say chump.
