According to the dallas morning news, nevin is reportedly traded to the Cubs.

no details on who the rangers get in return.

Funny, when I saw this topic I instantly assumed Cubs.

Hope they didn't give up much of anything for him...assuming they didn't I guess he can be useful until Lee comes back...would have been nice if they'd done something a few weeks back though. :-t

I hope this doesn't mean Lee's rehab is worsening or something. :-o

Still, I don't think Nevin is going to help out the Cubs a lot unless he accidentally clubs Neifi in the head or something.

Oh good god...I just read the article and I'm very very frightened.

The Cubs have been looking for an extra bat since first baseman Derek Lee suffered a broken wrist early in the season. Nevin can play first and also fill in at third and as a catcher.

You don't think that they'd actually use Nevin at catcher during Barrett's suspension do you?!?!? :-o

according to local reports, its for a utility guy named jerry hairston, and the rangers pickup the majority of the contract....so it basically a roster dump

Meh...6 of one half a dozen of the other. If the Cubs aren't paying for Nevin's bloated contract then whatever. I just REALLY hope they don't plan on having him catch. :-o

he hasnt played catcher in a while, so my bet is he's playing first until lee comes back.

wait this is real intersting though....i'm in a league that plays 2 catchers......if nevin plays catcher for a game does that mean that yahoo will update his eligibility to be catcher? if so then i'll definetly pick him up since he can still help more then yadier molina does as my second catcher.

Yeah, just seeing the mention of catcher in the article and realizing that this is timed out just in time for Barrett to start his suspension has me sweating a bit as a Cubs fan right now. We don't need our very own LeCroy back there letting 7 guys steal a bag in one game. :-P

Most Yahoo leagues is 5 games started or 10 games played.
