Royals GM Allard Baird was told Wednesday that he's been fired by the Royals. Braves assistant Dayton Moore is in line to replace him.
It's not offical yet, but it looks like the Royals are finally going in the right direction. Sources told the Kansas City Star that Moore is getting a five-year contract and complete control over baseball operations. He'll officially take over the GM role after next week's draft. Yeah, I'll be interested to see what the new GM does...their AA team is stacked and he can bide his time till September, bring them up or trade them. I would assume he'll just stay the course but when it comes to KC who knows.

This is a huge deal!! Not only are we getting, arguably, the best GM prospect out there but he will be bringing a good handful of some of the best scouts and other front office people from one of the best organizations out there (Atlanta). This is going to turn into a complete "gutting" of the organizations over the next year or two when Moore gets settled in, (which is what should happen). Ahhh, the great "ideas" of the good 'ol days (mid 70s - mid 80's) are coming back to KC as he will bring the ideas of Schuerholtz back to KC.

I can't be more excited about all of this!!!
