I go to a prep school...

we play 20 dollar games and up.. tonight we're playing a 50 dollar game.

but what someone said before.. i have the money to lose that.. but i figured id get the money.. but ill take the laptop...

but also.. i lent the kid money earlier in the year and he paid me interest.. so i figured id get it again...

as for beating his ass..

it needs to be done.. the kid deserves it.. all year weve tried to help him learn how to play poker and told him not to play because hes been in debt.. but he goes and gets money from kids to keep playing.. so aslong as he has cash im gonna take it and let him play because he just loses

This is exactly why I don't watch ESPN (Fox/Bravo/etc) much anymore and try not to let my kid watch it. Promoting gambling and making it look cool to kids is a completely despicable idea.

If the money doesn't really matter, why are you taking advantage of this kid who has a serious problem? He obviously can't control his gambling problem. Next time he asks for money to borrow, you say no. Tell all of your friends to say no as well.

Get him to pay everyone back,including yourself and then take charge and tell him no more borrowing or high stakes gambling. Confront him, tell him he needs help.

Normally I'd really say "Kick his ass" and "Make him pay"... but I think it'd be much more rewarding if you actually helped this kid out of a serious problem. Trust me, if you do the right thing, you'll feel better about yourself and hopefully the kid will get the point... either learn how to play the game or stop givng your money away.

I should start my own Dr. Phil show... :-D

Sell the laptop. You may even sell it for more than your $400+interest.

The kid needs to be taught a lesson though. If not it won't be prep school students he owes. It will be Vito the bookie who won't be as kind.
