Manager Terry Francona indicated that if the rest of the team had been healthy, Crisp would have batted sixth or seventh on Sunday and Kevin Youkilis would have stayed in the leadoff spot. Instead, Youkilis batted cleanup.
When Ramirez returns to the lineup, there's a chance Crisp will hit lower in the order until he gets his feet under him.
"Until [Crisp] gets in that comfort zone, we might drop him down just to ease the burden," Francona said.
The word is that Crisp will bat at the bottom of the order for a bit until he gets back into the swing of things (pun not intended, ha). Tonight, for instance, 7th. Once he is back to the hitter that is expected, he will leadoff and put Youk I'd assume 5th or 6th. You can't put that good a hitter any lower than that, I would imagine.
