i just wonder why this guy is never talked about as he is seemingly a top 15 or 20 pitcher.......i have him in my keeper league and am thinking about dealing him as i have an abundance of pitching. i have gotten offers of guys like giles, berkman and the likes of those guys for him.
my question is what is his value....i.e. what other starters would you value him closest too and hitters are at his level. thanks
I'd say Giles or Berkman would be about right. I'd probably put him @ Matt Morris/Tim Hudson status after this year. The guy's good and getting better.

I think he'll probably end up with 5 more wins, an ERA around 3.50 and WHIP around 1.20. One thing to be wary of however is his small build and the heavy workload and pitch counts they've been letting him throw. He could wear down and have a major drop off later in the season.
RJ, if he stays healthy will definitely have better numbers, especially since Pineiro is not a strikeout pitcher. In a keeper league, if you think you have an excellent shot at winning it this year, I wouldn't hesitate to trade Pineiro for RJ, but unless you're sure you can win it this year, I'd hold onto him because he has huge future potential.
piniero has the best right-handed curve outside of halladay and izzy, along with moose's knucklecurve. he can only get better. id keep him in a keeper, that's for sure. i got him in all my leagues usually

I'd compare his value to Matt Morris, Kerry Wood, Greg Maddux, and just slightly under Michael Mussina. Pinny just has to learn to keep those walk totals down eh
